Associated Global Systems Receives C-TPAT Certification
New Hyde Park, NY – (April 2005) -- Associated Global Systems, Inc. (AGS) a leading provider of transportation and logistics services, announced that it has received certification from the U.S. Bureau of Customs and Border Protection for meeting C-TPAT (Customs-Trade Partnership Against Terrorism) guidelines for securing the transportation of cargo while protecting against terrorism. C-TPAT is a worldwide supply chain initiative designed to provide the highest level of security through close cooperation with shippers, suppliers, importers, carriers, brokers, warehouse operators and manufacturers.
C-TPAT is a joint initiative between government and business designed to protect the security of cargo entering the United States while also improving the flow of trade. AGS received the validation after completing a risk assessment with Customs, verifying that the company is effectively executing C-TPAT security practices and that the company's procedures are in line with the Department of Homeland Security's requirements for supply chain security.
Receiving the validation enables AGS to expedite the processing of shipments through Customs, resulting in faster and more efficient service for its customers. AGS receives faster processing of shipments at borders, reduced inspections, and has access to a Customs account manager.
The C-TPAT guidelines were created jointly by government and industry, and include measures for procedural, physical and personnel security, access control, and education and training awareness.
